bio

Emerging OC artist Simon Grainger takes art to new levels of expressionism with bold new colors and hints of dark moody undertones. Born in Shrewsbury, England 1977 Simon has studied a broad range of art since
his childhood. Beginning with color books, crayons, and progressing through six years of specialized courses (including two years of advanced
training at the acclaimed Laguna College of Art and Design) he has learned to enjoy the triumphs and challenges associated with being an independent artist. Simon also studied abroad at the University of London and visited various European museums to observe and absorb the strokes of the masters.
Simon's work is a reflection of his many thoughts and interests including art, philosophy and pop culture. He is fascinated with the concepts that embody past, present, and future, and how they ultimately combine to form one reality.
Simon currently resides in Aliso Viejo with his pug Lillie and manages a bakery in Laguna Beach, California where he most
recently decorated the birthday cake for the
world-renowned artist known as Wyland.
Simon's work has been featured in a variety of shows and belongs to many private collectors. His work is currently on display at Gallery 1951, located on Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach, California.
